Quality of life is important in the last days of any goldfish's life, when asked most goldfish request to be quietly flushed before they expire and turn belly up.

If your goldfish has a chance to recover, place him in a separate tank to medicate without affecting the other fish. If you are sure he's dying, the most humane thing to do is place him in a plastic bag of water in the freezer--he will just go to sleep.

Sadly a dying goldfish is a lost cause. The best thing to do is keep his water clean and fresh. It will at least keep him comfortable. Also make sure to feed him regularly and scoop out the food he doesn't eat.

Well this depends, if the fish has ick, and is already showing signs of dying its unlikely it can be saved. I cant really think of anything you can do for a fish that is dying. My father in law gave a fish CPR and it survived, swam backwards after.
