FM radio uses technology of frequency modulation of voice signal so that there is better signal quality available at the receiver's end even if using small size antenna. It also gives better quality of sound using low power at high frequency band of 88-107 MHz whereas in case of AM, it employs amplitude modulation, more power required and less quality.
