Jimmy Hoffa was the President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Union from 1958 to 1971, during which the Union grew to have 1.5 million members. Hoffa's tenure was marred by scandals related to his relationship with organized crime, and he spent several years in prison in the 1960s. He was released in 1971, and mysteriously disappeared four years later.
