It would depend on the depth of injury. Generally, with adequate debridement and tissue replacement as well as being managed under a good burns unit center, the prognosis is good.

Infection is a major complication of second degree burns. Also, burn wounds are prone to tetanus. Acute Tubular Necrosis of the kidney are common with electrical burns and crush injuries.

I believe the prognosis for second degree burns is quite good. With proper hygeine and medical attention a full recovery is likely.

Some scars may be present but if no infection is present the prognosis is good since only two layers of skin were burned off. The burn should heal quickly if properly treated.

It is always safe not to resort to self medication for second degree of mild third degree burns. Self medication can really complicate it all. Infection and sever scar could be the dangerous fall out of prognosis or slef medication. The best thing is to go for a dcotors help
