What is the proper attire to wear to an outside daytime wedding?

The wedding is 3 pm and is in a lovely garden setting.

A wedding in the outdoors can be attended confidently wearing light pastels such as yellows and pinks. Florals are also nice. For a wedding after 6pm it should be more of a dressed up affair.

The appropriate attire should be location and weather appropriate. For example, if the wedding is on a beach then nice sandals may be appropriate. The attire should also conform to the nature of the wedding. For example, if it is very fancy and formal, then be sure you dress accordingly.

For an outside daytime wedding, an appropriate outfit for ladies would be a casual dress, perhaps with a wrap if it is a cool day. Shoes could be open-toed, flats, or heels. For gents, khaki pants and a button-down shirt of a lighter color would be the best choice.

It depends on the season. But being in a garden outside it is probably Spring, Summer, or early Fall. Do not wear white, no matter the season. A nice dress is appropriate. If it's early fall or spring it may be chilly so having a Cardigan or another sweater may be handy.

If you are a female, a walz length dress is delightful. Although you may want to wear a large hat, be aware that persons sitting behind you will not be able to see. If you will be seated on grass, high heels will create divets, so consider wearing flats. Carry a foldup umbrella just in case.

If an outdoor wedding is in a warm place, wear lightweight clothing that is not going to make you too hot. Please also remember suntan lotion incase of risk of sunburn. If the wedding is in a cold place, wear something with sleeves, perhaps with a jacket that can be taken off.

Because it is in a garden setting, it would be wise to not choose floral prints, but rather, choose bright, spring colors in a solid pattern. Perhaps a sundress.

For an outdoor garden setting the signature color is white. If you're afraid of staining a white ensemble then a cream or pastel color would also be appropriate.

I would recommend a modest plain summer dress with a nice pair of heels or flats. This means, no low cut tops and no design. Keep the color simple.
