Pine mugu are drought tolerant plants and are care-free. The soil used could be any well-drained soil. This type of pine could also be placed in direct sunlight or partial shade. Water every other day when is it just transplanted. Care should be taken in the harsh winter months, and should not be pruned during winter seasons.

Pine mugu are very low maintenance shrubs. They prefer well drained soil and can thrive in any soil. They are tolerant to drought and can grow in both warmer and cooler climates. They do not require fertilization. They need plenty of light and water. The roots should not sit in water for long so the soil must be fast draining.

Pine mugu are virtually maintenance free. They are drought tolerant and there roots grow close to the surface. This allows them to grow easily in warm and cooler climates.
