What is the significance of different color roses?

I saw a list once that gave the meaning or message of each color.

Red roses symbolize romance, shouting "I love you." Pink roses express thanks and appreciation. Yellow roses represent friendship. White roses are associated with marriages and remembrance. Orange roses suggest desire and passion. Lavender roses express enchantment or love at first sight. Black roses indicate death, while blue roses, something unattainable.

This flower is diverse in its meanings through it's colors. Yellow welcomes the traveler or visitor home. Red, of course, is for love. White symbolizes purity or chastity - but can also mean death. Peach is by way of thanks. Pink expresses happiness or friendship. Lavender is "love at first sight." Black means death, or hatred. See Ernst Lehner's book.

Red means passion. While white means purity. A Yellow rose means friendship and of course the most favorite of these is the black rose which means death.

Yellow roses are for friendship; white is traditionally used for weddings and for remembrance. Orange roses are for a passionate romance, and lavender roses are for love at first sight.
