Both breeds are very small dogs. A Lhasa Apso is, on average, twelve to fourteen pounds (five to seven kilograms) if female and fourteen to eighteen pounds (six to eight kilograms) if male. A Shih Tzu can sometimes be a little smaller, averaging between ten and sixteen pounds (about four to seven kilograms).
