What is the "Westminster System" of government?

It is a democratic system modelled after the UK system; used in several Commonwealth nations (Canada, Jammaica, Ireland, India, New Zealand, etc.); bicameral parliament: House of Commons (lower elected house) and Hous of Lords; leader of majority party in Commons is usually Prime Minister; complex patter of executive functions.
