What is trichomonas?

A friend told me she has trichomonas and I am not sure what it is.

Trichamonas is a sexually transmitted infection caused by a protazoan. In women it can cause a foul or "fishy" odor, vaginal discharge, often green/yellow in color, painful urination, and vaginal itching. In men there are less obvious symptoms such as a discharge or painful urination.

Trichomonas is a parasite that lives in humans. There are two common subgroups of these parasites. One lives in the mouth and feeds on plauque and the other lives in the vagina and feeds on dead cells. Both are easy to treat with hygiene and other medication if nessisary.

Trichomonas is an sexually transmitted disease that can be cured by taking antibiotics. Usually you get it from having multiple partners and not using protection during sexual intercourse. It is a bacteria that grows in the vagina.
