To troubleshoot a sound issue on a television, first check to make sure that no audio cables came loose or unplugged. If this is not the problem, there may be a problem with the sets internal speaker. If you are not qualified to fix televisions, you should have the set examined by a qualified repair person.

If the sound is going on and off, it sounds like there is a problem with the power supply or possibly an electrical short inside the television itself. Your best bet is to purchase a new t. v. because repairing old ones is very expensive.

It could be due to the fact that, the sound wires are not plugged in. Check the connections and make sure they are in the right place and shoved all the way in. Don't force them in, just make sure they are all the in.

Before you throw your TV out, try checking all the power cords and outlets, and also try hooking up an external speaker, might be an internal speaker or electrical issue.

That means you have some loose cords in your TV. Where the cords were soldered it probably has worn down and is now loose and will keep going in and out. Eventually the it won't be connected at all and the sound will go totally out. You can try to re solder them.
