It would actually vary by which year your Celica is. It varies from a 1.6 Liter to a 2.2 Liter, and some of them are turbo-charged, while others aren't. They are all FE model engines, which means they are improved from older model Celica motors.

The Celica ST Coupe had a variety of four cylinder engines. For example, the export market ST came with a twin downdraft-carburetor 2T-B engine whereas the first Celica for USA, the 1971 ST was powered by 1.9 liter 8R engine. The later models had the 2.2 liter 20R engine. Basically they were powered by various versions of Toyota's R series.
