Two major differences are: the Methodist Church teaches that salvation comes through "faith alone" not by any action humans can do; whereas the Catholic Church considers good works and deeds necessary for salvation. Methodist Churches only consider baptism and communion as holy sacraments; the Catholic Church also celebrates matrimony, confirmation, ordination, funerals and anointing of the sick as sacraments.

Methodists don't believe in praying to saints, but Catholics do. Methodists also dont believe in transubstanciation - which is the belief that the cracker and wine used in the communion ACTUALLY transform into the physical flesh and blood of Christ as the are cosumed. Catholics do. Methodists don't drink (as much) either.
