Two movies that involve lying to get ahead are Bad Lieutenant and Matchstick Men starring Nicolas Cage. In Bad Lieutenant he cons and lies as a cop to catch the bad guys. In Matchstick Men, he plays a con man but comes up empty handed in the end since he's been conned himself.

The movie Wallstreet involves lying and stealing to get ahead. It was a good movie that showed how insider trading takes place and all the lies that are told. Also the movie Oceans 11, 12,and 13, where all about lying and conning people to get what you want. Most all of the James Bond movies invoke lying to get ahead.
