Biologically the point of living is immortality through passing on your genetic material. Philosophically we live because we can, because the alternative is death and most of us either can not take the steps necessary to choose death or have personal reasons for choosing life.

This question is asked many ways, and in The Myth of Sysaphus, Camus puts it, "Why not commit suicide? " The best answers are that we are each given a blank life, and we create the stories of our lives. The point is the one we write or weave into our own stories.
