You just have to cut them back, it won't hurt them. In future, do as old English gardeners do, plant them in their own, walled, well contained space

Cucumbers take well to gentle pruning, pinch off the encroaching vines. This will stop the plant from spreading and will allow the existing fruit to grow larger.

There should not be over fertilizing or over watering. Normally, the sprinkling type of fertilizing is recommended for the cucumber plant. Application of organic manures or fertilizers are also essential.

The best idea is instead of letting the cucumber plant grow horizontally give them support so that they can grow in a vertical direction. The size of cucumbers their weight will indicate what kind of support can be used.

Cucumber plants are known to spread where ever they can get to. They will climb over and through just about anything. This can be a space problem as well as a problem if they begin to strangulate your other plants. It should not harm your plant to simply cut it back to the desired length.
