This probably indicates that you need to have it serviced at an authorized service center for your lawnmower. You could, if you are the do-it-yourself kind, change the oil to see if it still does the same thing afterwards. When you do change it yourself make sure you follow the manufactures guideline in the users manual.

A smoking lawnmower could be due to a few different things, such as too much oil in the gas mix, or worn out piston rings. First check the recommended oil/gas mix ratio and be certain that it is correct. Once this is done, if the engine is still smoking, check for mechanical damage.

A smoking engine could be a sign that there is a lot of wear in the piston sleave, or that a gasket is bad. Consult a local mower shop.

The best thing you could do for that is call and have a service guy come out and take a look at it.

Usually any lawnmower will smoke if the oil is low. It might continue to smoke if you overspill the oil. Always check the oil when it is cold.
