Any infection requires antibiotics from a veterinarian. There are a number of safe antibiotics for hamsters, the most common is Baytril. Since it is inside the mouth there is very little you can do at home for this other than insuring the hamster can eat by providing softer foods such as babyfood.

There is not much you can do for a hamster with an infected tooth. The situation will treat itself, just keep plenty of water and food for the hamster.

Take the hamster to a vet who specializes in rodents ASAP. Teeth issues can be very serious if not dealt with by a professional who has experience in the field.
