Snakes do not eat very often, once, twice a month, that is all. They only poop once after they eat also, bonus. So unless it has been a month or so since your snake has eaten, I would not stress about it. I did have a snake once that would only eat white mice, maybe this is helpful?

Some snakes can go as long as a year without eating. Just keep the food in the tank a day or two. If they dont eat, try again next week.

If he is new, the problem is just from stress of him adjusting to a new home. This is common in new pets. Leave him alone and he will eat.

Some reasons the snake may not could be caused by environmental stresses, wrong food, illness, or possibly the wrong food size. A good method for enticement is to spray the meal with water. Animals are sensitive to water and may be able to locate the pray quicker. Chicken broth can also be used as enticement.

The snake may feel too stressed out to eat. Try providing a dark, secluded place, cover the tank, or simply try feeding the snake different foods.

Make sure that its environment is at a correct temperature. Offer a variety of foods, as your snake may be a picky eater.

Although force feeding is not recommended, this might be the only way to get a snake to eat if has been too long.

Try giving the snake different types of food. The snake is probably becoming bored with its diet. It needs to be stimulated the way that it would in the wild. Try crickets, mealworms, or maybe even an infant mouse. The snake needs something that will spark its interest and make it eat.

Usually animals do not take food as we do.They will not take food once they take full stomach. Some time they go without food for days together. They will stay on in a place without moving.I think your snake is in hybernation. If it is in a bad condition as you expected better go to a vet.

Make sure that your snake is in a good environment, that it isn't stressed and that you are feeding it the food that it wants.
