The most important thing to remember is this is very contagious. Make sure you do not scratch your head and then scratch another part of your body. Wash your hands thoroughly. Take your antibiotics faithfully.

MRSA is a particulary virulent bacteria that is resistant to most penicillin based regimes. Thus it often requires treatment with vancomycin, linezolid, septra, clindamycin or daptomycin. The most important thing is to make sure all the pus is drained because anitbiotics can't penetrate pus. Close follow up is needed an irradication should be considered.

1. Wash your hair thoroughly with antiseptic shampoo; avoid herbals that can irritate the scalp. 2. Take all medications your doctor gives you. 3. Do not share brushes, hats, jackets with hoods, hair bands or anything else that may come into contact with your head with anyone else to reduce the risk of spreading it to others.
