It depends on how you want to do it. you can spray, but then you have dead and decaying mice in places you may not be able to find or get to. The best method is to bait traps. This way you control where they die and are able to dispose of them before there is an odor.

Getting rid of pack rats can be done in several ways. You can purchase live traps at your local hardware store, bait them and then release the rats in a remote area. Or use regular rattraps (a larger version of a mousetrap). Another option is to set out cubes of rat poison, keeping it away from pets and children.

They can go into very small holes so there needs to be plan to cover all openings that the animal can get through and also that if there is food than it will attract the animal
