Find speakers that are powered by a USB port. These will get the audio directly out of the USB port, Power the speakers, and usually have a small foot print so do not take up much space on your desk.

I would suggest looking at either Best Buy or Staples. Both of these stores have good selections and offer decent prices. Online shopping usually will get better deals, however, it's hard to know exactly what you'll be getting.

It all depends on what you want out of your computer speakers. If you only want them for sound for games, then you can get away with buying an inexpensive set. if you are looking for quality sound you will spend a bit more.

From my experience, go for Creative or Logitech speakers for 5.1,6.1, 7.1 surround sound systems. Provided you have a fairly decent pc AND you either know what soundcard you have, or you have put 1 in yourself. Any top soundcards made by Creative\Turtle will do.

For basic computer use, any kind of speakers will generally suffice. However, if you're planning on using them to listen to music or movies, you'll want to get a pair by a reputable company. Also, having volume control and a headphone jack on the speakers is a nice perk!

Check various compatibility points. Do you have a mac or pc, and are the speakers compatible with both? How's the sound? Check sites like cnet and consumersearch to read other user reviews on quality relative to price.

When looking for new speakers for your computer you should first decide if you want them to plug in a USB or plug into the speaker jack.

Look in the manual that came with your computer to see if they recommend a certain type of speaker. Ask the sales team at Best Buy what they recommend.

Good quality speaks should come with a subwoofer so that the sound has a deep tone when you wish it to. I like two speakers and one subwoofer.

First you must check the internet and go to a website that compares stores with their prices and qualities. You should also look for the model you like.

You should consider how large the room is, what kind of music you will be listening to, how much you want to spend, what range of sound you want (deep bass which may require more speakers), along with where you will place the speakers.

A good speakers set will have a left and a right speaker, as well as a large sub woofer. The woofer will make sure your movies and games rumble.

Something that will work very well, and also last. You will probably want a subwoffer because you will really be able to hear the bass that way.
