Most colleges have a Pre-Med curriculum. Take a look at that as it will give you a range of choices that will help you be prepared for Dental School. Make sure you take some business classes too. Accounting will be very useful.

If you want to be a dentist you need to go to a dental school which means you need the requirements for that. Acceptable majors include biology, chemistry, biomedical engineering, biochemistry and molecular biology.

The most important requirements for dental school admission are a good GPA and a good score on the Dental Admission Test (DAT). Individual schools also have specific course requirements for entry, but no specific major requirement. That said, most dentists majored in biology or chemistry.

Although you do not have to major in science, you must complete whatever pre-dental courses your University requires. Your academic advisor may suggest natural or health sciences as a major.

A 4-year degree is recommended before dental school. Science, although not necessary, is a good major specifically with classes in biochemistry, organic and inorganic chemistry, physics and general biology. These classes will help with the pre-dental science requirements in the United States. Other majors are fine, as long as these classes are taken as well.

Dental school is even more grueling than medical school. Consider a pre-med undergrad degree or a course of study in one of the basic sciences (chemistry, physics, biology). Grades, GPA competitive college, DAT scores, volunteer experience in the field and associations in the field all make a difference.

Seeing that the path to being a dentist requires post-graduate study. The college course of study should be heavy in the sciences. Especially biology and chemistry. Biology for knowledge base of human structures, and chemistry for the understanding of the medicines you will be learning about.

Go for a Biology based curriculum. It's not necessary to move onto dental school, but it will definitely better prepare you for the classes you will be taking in there.
