My friend was given an estimate for a 90 foot french drain. It was on an empty clean 4-5 ft high crawlspace. It was too high. He hunted for more, but I'm not sure what he finally ended up paying.

You should try doing it yourself! it's back breaking work, but will save you quite a bit of money on your french drain. Get a surveyor to choose the right spot and calculate how long it will be - and then start the digging!

Busyfingers - there's more than just digging! There's priming, some painting, doing pressure holes, putting in some putty. You can use some landscape fabric too to keep the gravel out. There's also some calculations that I never figured out!  add a comment
