car repairs

Question by  Venkatesh (14)

What things do I need to do to winterize my car?

I have a 1996 Infiniti g20 sedan, and would like to get it ready for the winter months. I live in Minnesota, so it will be cold.

First check the antifreeze. You can purchase a tester at the auto parts store. If your antifreeze is good check the battery to make sure your amps are up. If you have a low battery try to add acid to the battery or replace it.

Do a basic check of all important part, wipers, brakes, etc... Flush your cooling system and refill with the appropriate amount of antifreeze. Maybe put a emergency kit together also.

Check to make sure you have good tires, Belt Hoses are in good shape, check to make sure your antifreeze level is good. Good idea to have your car tuned up and would keep a box with flashlight, blanket, and flares as well in the trunk. Also first aid kit

The most important step to winterizing your vehicle is making sure there is plenty of anti-freezes in the car and in the holding container.
