A few guppies (no more than three) or a betta and a cory catfish would be good for this tank. Steer clear of goldfish, they grow too large.

Fancy tailed guppies or neon tetras are great for a small freshwater tank. They like a little seaweed to hide hide in.

Small fish are best. Guppies are a common choice. Try several Neons (multicolored) and Zebras. Mix neons with zebra, but not with guppies, which might eat neon.

We had Tetras in one of our smaller freshwater tanks. A few fit nicely as they are tiny fish. Goldfish work as well in a smaller tank.

Goldfish are perfect. They don't need a lot of room to swim. Try a beta fish as well because they don't need air filters.
