What was home construction like in the 1800's?

The 1800s was the beginning of when the parts of complete houses would be sold bundled. These packages and homes that looked like them first show up around this time.

Well as I recall, it was pretty easy for the females of the population, due to the fact that it was a man's work and they weren't required to do anything. The men however, found it tough going, with the felling of trees, stripping the logs, deciding on how to arrange them and fix them together, life was tough.
