Women were in charge of the management of household slaves. Women lived in a separate quarters and were not allowed to be seen, except by the head of household.

Women in ancient Gease including the athenian state were little more then porperty to their husbands. A girl had to obey her fathers and brothers when young. Then were married off to be under their husbands rule. Decent women did not attend feasts. Only prostitues did. WOmen were supposed to bear children and obey their husbands.
