What would cause a cyst on my toe?

It could be caused from poor fitting shoes, plantar warts, or other conditions such as gout and athlete's foot. It is best to have it look at by a physician to get an adequate diagnosis and proper treatment. Watch for signs of infection that include drainage, redness, warmth and discoloration.

Too much exercise ie. athlethe's foot or lack of hygiene (Excessive sweat) can lead up to mucous organisms accumulating up, which in turn will lead to cysts on the toe.

A mucoid cyst is due to weakness in the joint covering. As a result a fluid filled cyst forms. To prevent infection make an appointment with your podiatrist.
