What would cause small blisters on a small child's hands and feet?

My son has a low-grade fever and these blisters.

This could be caused by scarlet fever, which is caused by streptococcus. Or it could indicate hand, foot, and mouth disease. With both of these, the child may have a sore throat. If there are sores also in the mouth, it may be more likely the latter of the two.

Its possible that the child has come in contact with some sort of chemical such as a cleanser. Even though the cleanser may have been used days ago and is now dry , children can still react to them.
