First you must make a resume and save it on your desktop and flashdrive (if you have one). Many employers nowadays want resumes emailed to them. Also make many paper copies for interviews and such. Register with all the temp agencies in town. Network with friends and relatives if they know a company that is hiring. Be optimistic.

Lower your standards. If you're desperate, take the best job available and then look for the perfect job while you work at the one that pays the bills.

How are you doing it the wrong way? or you handing out resumes? have your resumes been proof read? Are you putting down clearly your availability? have you applied to all the places that you can work? Follow up at the places you have dropped off your resumes and don't be too picky. Good luck:)

The best way is to use every resource available. Submit your resume to wesites like craigslist, post it at monster and others, network with friends, attend job fairs. Sometimes its good to accept part time work or do volunteer work until you find the job that you really want.
