You can buy your school textbooks after you receive your financial aid check from your school. Most students receive the financial aid check within the first week of the semester. If you don't receive yours, go to your school's financial aid office.

Check with your school bookstore. They may have you transfer funds to a local account, bill you after your your aid comes, or wait for disbursement and purchase independently.

After your fees and tuition are subtracted from your financial aid award, the remaining balance will be disbursed to you for "educational expenses. " Check with the bursar for the calendar.

If financial aid is paying for your books, you will often receive a check, and still have to purchase them yourself.

This varies from school to school, and the best place to find the right answer is at your school's financial aid office. Usually, however, you get your books after you sign all of your financial aid paperwork and you register for classes, and just before classes start.
