When is hurricane season in Mexico?

Is it different than the US?

Technically it starts one month earlier. On the east coast, both the US and Mexico are in the same seasonal zone; Mexico can get them on the west coast also.

No, it's the same. The season generally begins June 1st and ends November 30th for the Atlantic Ocean, which is where the storms tend to originate before moving into the Gulf of Mexico.
