During the two weeks after the kittens are born, the mother cat leaves them only to eat and to use the bathroom. Then, the mother kitten leaves them more often but it is always paying attention to them. When it stops nursing the kittens, they will become more and more independent.

Cats form large groups (cat communities. ) Usually people give kittens away or sell them, leaving the mother and the kittens heartbroken.

some mother cats will leave them right away or try to eat them. watch out for that. other cats will leave them if the kittens are touched before the mother cat feels like they are ready. ive seen that happen. other mother cats won't ever leave them and are upset when the kittens are taken away. just depends.
