Break ups can be complicated emotional events, for some the events are too strong to really understand. The best advice is to find a counselor you trust and can open up to. They might be able to shed insight on the feelings of apathy. It's also entirely possible you were ready for the relationship to end.

There are various psychology websites that have sections dedicated to romantic relationships. Browse the section until you find an article pertaining to breaking up and coping. One good site to try our is Psychology Today. If you have a decent relationship with a parent or other adult figure, you may also want to consult them.

Dealing with a break-up is a challenging thing. There are many websites available that go over tips and ideas on how to "deal"/feel about a break-up. However, I feel the best place to find out that information is through someone who has been there before.

You are going to be confused, especially if you were the one who got dumped. It's okay to feel this way. Just don't be in a sulky mood for too long. Go out with a group of friends for dinner or something to get your mind off this break-up and move on. You will be happier.

There are plenty of relationship counselors out there, but I recommend listening to some good breakup music. Some Fiona Apple would be a good place to start.
