One of the best places to get language training, especially in a complex language such as Arabic, is Berlitz Language School. They offer intense, one-on-one language instruction often by a native speaker. I received training in Arabic at Berlitz Boston and was very satisfied with the instructor and the results.

Most language schools offer intensified courses in Arabic. Rosetta Stone offers online courses which claim to be effective. Rosetta Stone counts among its clients the U.S. government and the Peace Corps. There are books and CDs you can pick up at the bookshop, but your best bet is to undertake a structure program that includes native speakers.

There are lots of language schools, including Berlitz and In Lingua, as well as intensified learning programs like Rosetta Stone. Research any of those online.
