Dogs that work in film are the same as actors. They are all cast through auditions. Dogs and their owners are signed with animal talent agents. The advertisers or filmmakers approach these agents. To get your dog on television, simply register with one of these agents and let them do their magic for you and your pet.

Well what you would want to do, is to contact an animal agent about your dog. The agent will then see if she could put your dog into anything.

I am not sure where they get the dogs for those commercials, but many animals that appear in commercials and shows are animals they found in shelters and then trained.

Some ways to get a hold of "animal" actors include going to a casting agent that specializes in animals, posting an advertisement in the newspaper or Craigslist, or through friends and family. If you would like your dog to appear in commercials, the best way would be to contact an agent.

For any type of pet commercial, there are always local pet casting calls. If you think your dog would be right for a commercial, start trying him out for parts.

Most of the animals tend to be well trained "actor animals". You can always look for auditions in your area. They may be looking for the next pooch star at any time. Try writing to Purina, too. They may have more information.
