The sharks maimum size reputed to be about 9. 1 m,but this is not confirmed. Tiger sharks are smaller than 5m. Only few female sharks exceed about 5. 5 m. Male sharks reach about 3. 7 meters. Female sharks after maturing reach about 5. 5meters. One gigantic femal shark which was caught in 1957 was reported to be the gigantic shark weighing 3110 kg and 7. 4m

Gigantic adult female caught off Indo-China in 1957 was reported as being 7. 4 m and weighing 3110 kg (Fournier, 1961).

The largest tiger shark on record weighed 1,100 pounds off of Massachusetts in July of 2005. There are probably larger ones out there in the ocean. It is a known fact that they prefer warmer, tropical waters.
