Jet Blue! Hands down! Not only are they the least expensive, they seem to be the friendliest, have lots of rewards, able to negotiate prices, and very comfortable seating. The only downfall is their limitations as far as destinations go and how many time per week they actually fly to those destinations.

Spirit Airlines is extremely low priced. HOWEVER, their service is miserable. They lost baggage and had NO ONE on duty to even talk to about finding it for hours and hours. Air Tran is also low priced, but be prepared to be nickel and dimed for every little tiny thing.

I don't think any one airline has a monopoly on cheap airfare. It's just a matter of doing some comparison shopping and looking for seat sales.

Airlines with cheapest flights depend somewhat upon what area of the country you live in and where you want to fly to. But Southwest Airlines is good, and they don't charge extra for baggage. Allegiant Air is another less expensive airlines, but they don't fly to as many destinations. They usually are one-stop flights.

Allegiant Air: cheap but obnoxious. Mid flight annouced weather was causing them to fly to alternative destination. They weren't going to reimburse anyone to fly to original city. Passesngers complained. Since Alligiant hadn't explained their rules before flight, they reversed their plan and flew to original destination inspite of weather.

For my Easyjet have the cheapest fights from England and they fly to a number of destinations around Europe. Their prices start from as little as £1 but on average you can get a flight for around £40 return. Easyjet fly from most of the major Airports in the UK.

It depends where you are looking to go. I would suggest a website that compares rates against one another. The best in my opinion is orbitz.

It all depends on where you are leaving from and where you are going. Generally speaking smaller airlines like JetBlue and AirTran are cheaper than the major carriers. They usually travel to most if not all major cities.
