The US still has the largest GDP, but China is catching up. China recently passed Japan for second place, so it seems like just a matter of time for China.

GDP stands for Gross Domestic Product. The GDP is an economic indicator and reflects the dollar value of all the goods and services that a country produces. If you go by the raw numbers, then yes, the United States has highest GDP or Gross Domestic Product when compared to the GDP of other countries.

The United States has the largest overall GDP ($14.2 trillion) according to the CIA World Factbook, although if you count the European Union, its GDP is slightly higher ($14.5 trillion). However, if you compare GDP per capita, Liechtenstein has the highest at $122,100 and the United States is number 10 on the list at $46,400.
