Who makes a reliable LCD 42 inch TV?

Look for brand names that have been in the industry for a long time like Magnavox, Phillips, Sony or LG Electronics. Prices can vary with both the brand and the store.

The big names for a full HDTV at this size would be LG, Samsung,Sony, and Panasonic. However, these are also the most expensive brands. If you are looking for a solid tv that is a little cheaper I would recommend looking at Vizio. I personally have a Panasonic Veira, and have never had an issue with it.

There are many companies out there who make very good tvs. There are a few that i have had great experience with and which i would highly recommend. Samsung is a great brand. I have been told they make the top of the line tv's followed closely by Sony. Vizio is also a great option at a lower price.

Samsung has long had a reputation for making excellent televisions. Samsung has a wide variety of LCD TVs in the 42 inch range that are considered top of the line.

Many of the major electronic manufacturors make well made and reliable LCD tv's in a variety of sizes, for example, Tony, Toshiba and Panasonic. I personally have a 42 inch Toshiba and it is of a very high quality.

I would stick with name-brand Japanese manufacturers. Sony is the industry standard. They are also the most expensive. Samsung makes a great TV in my opinion. Very reliable and it also has a great picture. If you want, you can also try LG. They're a newer brand as far as I know but don't have very many issues.
