Who makes the Jupiter 12 lens?

The Jupiter 12 rangefinder lens is made by KMC. It a copy of the pre-war Carl Zeiss Biogon 3.5cm f/2.8 lens made for the Contax. Parts of the Zeiss Factory were transported to Russia after World War Two.

This russian 35mm was produced first by KMZ, now by LZOS. Though it seems to be a copy of a Carl Zeiss'(Germany), nowadays it's produced by russian LZOS factory.

The Jupiter 12 lens was made by KMZ, who are based in Russia. It was primarily made in the 1950s and 1960s. Some production in later years was done by LZOS, who are also in Russia.

These lenses were made by a then Soviet company named KMZ. They are not currently in production but you can sometimes new old stocks in online trading websites.
