Rosie the Riveter was the embodiment of how women could support the war. Corrie ten Boom Was famous for hiding Jews in her home. Virginia Hall spied for the allies.

Women were perfect for certain types of intelligent work. Julia Child, worked with the OSS (spies)and invented a shark repellent to keep sharks from setting off underwater explosives. She served as WACS, ATS, to create James Bond toys to help WWII spies. Marlene Dietrich also worked with the OSS. There were women pilots, Jacqueline Cochran and test-pilot Nancy Harkness Love

Entertainers: Vera Lynn, Gracie Fields, The Andrews Sisters. Secret Agents:Violette Szabo and Odette Churchill. Both were captured and tortured. Violette was murdered by the Gestapo while Odette survived the war.

There were many women during WW2 who survived the holocaust. They were from all over Europe and some still today do not talk about their experience.
