Why are all pill bottles so hard to open?

Is there a way to get them easier to open?

Federal law mandates childproof pill bottle lids in the USA so kids don't poison themselves accidentally. Pharmacists can give you easy-to-open lids on prescription medications if you ask.

Pill bottles are very hard to open because of a poisoning that happened with the Tylenol bottles back in the 1960's. Someone bought several Tylenol bottles and put cyanide in the capsules which killed several of people. Since then, pill bottles have been made to be tamper proof for our safety. There is no way to open them easier.
