Why are there black spots on the leaves of my Bradford flowering pear?

It sounds almost like you have an infestation of leafhopper ants and they are a nightmare to get rid of once you get them. The best thing you can do is pinch a leaf of and go talk to your local greenhouse.

It sounds like the problem could either be called a "Fire Blight which is caused by bacteria" or an "Entomosporium Leaf Spot" which is a fungus.

Some types of spots on leaves are caused by fungal infections. The best way to treat this is to take a sample to your local nursery for an expert opinion.
