We had this problem a lot. Usually a green pool is due to algae growth. Talk to your local pool store about what you need to use to combat this. It's important to keep an eye on your pool water chemistry to keep things like this under control.

The water in the pool turned green because of algae growth. There was not enough chlorine in the pool to kill the algae. The algae will need to be killed and the pool walls scrubbed. You may have to drain the pool, clean thoroughly and then refill to solve.

The chemicals are out of whack! You either have to much or to little chlorine, or salt water in your pool. The color is caused by algae and isn't serious, just not fun to swim in. I recommend get a pool kit to test your chemical levels.

There is an chemical imbalance in your pool. You can visit pool retailers to get a ph kit that will help you test the water and put the right chemicals in it.

If the water in your swimming pool has turned green, this means that you have algae growing in the water.
