peter addressed his first letter to fellow worshipper like himself. They were scattered about in Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia as well as in Pontus. In his closing he acknowledged those to whom he was speaking by writing, "May all of YOU who are in union... have peace. " Thus demonstrating he was not writing to himself.

Some people write notes and letters to themselves to help them remember things that need to be done. Also Peter could have been reminding himself of certain things that need to be done. Or he could have been writing this to another person named Peter.
