Why do I always have stiff muscles in the morning?

It always takes maybe two hours of moving around to loosen up and feel good in the mornings.

Are you working out every day? If that's the case, cut back to 3 or 4 days a week. You may also need a new mattress. You could be tossing and turning in the night, causing exertion.

You may need a better mattress. If your mattress is too hard or too soft, your muscles stay tensed all night trying to hold your limbs in a comfortable position. This causes you to wake up sore, especially in your legs, shoulders and back.

The reason you feel stiff in the morning is because you are laying in bed for several hours without moving around. You are not using your muscles therefor they get stiff. Once you are up for a couple of hours, they loosen back up and you feel normal once again.

Do you work out? If so, are you stretching properly pre-and post-workout? If not, this could be the root of your problems. Try stretching after a hot bath.
