Your muscles may be twitching because they've been heavily used and are trying to unwind - do you spend all day on your feet? Try a hot bath or shower right before bed, and take potassium and magnesium supplements to help with muscle twitches and cramps.

A lot of people twitch when they try to rest, but if yours is keeping you awake, you should talk to your doctor. A physician can prescribe medication to help.

Could be stress related, or neurological. Sometimes this can be because of a trauma. If it continues to occur it is best to see a neurologists to rule out damage.

Maybe it could be a prelude to a muscle pull attack and if this is so,try and exercise regularly and take enough water so that the muscles are fit enough to endure all conditions you expose yourself to.
