Why does God allow suffering?

Because what doesn't kill us only makes us stronger. If we never suffered we wouldn't have as much compassion and understanding for the people around us. I know I feel a lot better about finishing something when I had to work hard for it. Everything happens for a reason and it's something you just have to accept.

All answers about what God thinks are, of course, belief systems and not known facts. That said, suffering is part of life, and God endorses life and wants us all to be able to contrast pleasure with pain. Without pain and suffering, there could be no contrasting pleasure.
